Apple SIM To Hit The Market Soon
Apple SIM To Hit The Market Soon
Another Apple breakthrough will hit the market as Apple SIM cards enable its users to switch mobile networks without necessarily changing the SIM, according to the report by The Register.
The I.T. company iGiant created a mobile application that involves the use of the SIM card for iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Dubbed as AppleSIM, this new application allows users to switch another mobile network provider without having to change the SIM card. This remarkable creation is in collaboration with various mobile network providers in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Using only one SIM card in the mobile phone, users can switch to different mobile network providers as needed. This is only available, however, as of the moment to iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 models in the United States and the United Kingdom.
In another report by Mashable, the Apple company claimed that the AppleSIM gives its consumers the leeway to choose among short-term data plans from different network providers in the U.S and U.K using their iPad Air 2 and Mini 3.
"So whenever you need it, you can choose the plan that works best for you - with no long-term commitments," the company averred.
Accordingly, the AppleSIM is ideal among people who are always travelling to different places in the U.S. and U.K. Such lifestyle entails the adjustment of mobile network providers, depending on the place where the user is. With this new technology, users can just simply switch to another provider easily without having to change their SIM cards. Also, they will not be committed to indulge with long-term mobile plans as they can now switch to other providers as needed.
In the meantime, Apple said that it has collaborated with AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint providers for the U.S. side. In U.K., the AppleSIM can be used only with EE.
Meanwhile, this has taken positive reviews from many Apple users. Aside from convenience, this enables users to experience different mobile network providers without having to change their SIM cards. On the low side, however, this is only applicable as of the moment for iPad Air 2 and Mini 3 models.
