Finding Dory Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, Updates and Plot: Disney and Pixar Movie to be Released on June 17th 2016
If you did not hear it already from Ellen DeGeneres, Finding Nemo is getting a sequel. This time Dory is the lost one. This movie has come a long way, its story started in 2005. When the relationship between Disney and Pixar thawed and Pixar seemed like they might not be able to get their movies out. When rumors started coming out that they were making a Finding Nemo sequel Pixar denied the rumors vehemently. Well guess what? The rumors weren't that much off the mark; Finding Dory was announced in 2013 and was initially given a November 25th 2015 release date that was later pushed to June 17th 2016.
The title may leave the plot open to interpretation, maybe we are trying to find Dory's mind? Her sanity? Maybe she's been captured? I heard it on the grapevine that she may be finding her family or her family is out to find her. The movie is set a year after we have found Nemo and is set off the coast of California. If you are wondering if you will get to see the old gang the answer is yes! Pixar announced that the tank gang will be very much in attendance in addition to Dory's very weird support group. There are also new characters to look out for like Dory's adopted sister who happens to be a killer whale. Marlin shall also be making a comeback and we still do not know whether the connection that developed between the two fish in Finding Nemo will have grown to something substantial. And of course how would we be finding Dory without Nemo?
Ellen DeGeneres is coming back to voice our beloved amnesiac Pacific regal blue tang and Albert Brooks is also on board to voice Marlin, Nemo's father. The boy who voiced Nemo was 9 in 2003 when Finding Nemo was done so we really do not think he shall be coming back unless Nemo as grown which in real life would be logical considering the lifespan of a fish but this is a cartoon. New characters mean new voices to listen for. Diane Keaton is voicing Dory's mother opposite Eugene Levy who is voicing her father. Idris Elba is also coming on board but his character is still not known. Andrew Stanton shall be joined by Angus MacLane in the director's chair.
