Tracy Morgan Update: Tracy Morgan is in Disbelief - Wal-Mart Blaming Him for His Own Injuries
Wal-Mart has finally responded to the lawsuit filed by Tracy Morgan. The chain store denied all allegations of recklessness and even said that the injuries that were sustained by Morgan and the rest of the passengers were due to their "failure to wear an appropriate available seat belt restraint device." Wal-Mart also added that if the passengers were wearing seatbelts, all or a portion of the injuries could have been diminished or minimized."
The actor/comedienne sustained fracture on his ribs, nose, and leg. The actor felt that, after Wal-Mart released their statement, he needs to speak up. Morgan said, "I can't believe Wal-Mart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong."
The said accident happened last June 7 at around 1 a.m. at the New Jersey Turnpike; Morgan and the rest of the passengers suffered severe injuries. One passenger, James McNair, died.
Kevin Roper is the driver of the truck that hits the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, in which, carries Morgan and the rest of the entourage. According to CNN, "The truck struck the rear of Morgan's limo, and the two vehicles moved forward and were involved in secondary impacts with other vehicles that were slowed in the traffic queue." The report added,"The limo van rolled over and came to rest on its left side, facing east, across the center and right lanes."
They are looking at Roper's itinerary to see if he's overworked or if there's any law that he's broken. It has been reported that Roper has been awake for more than 24-hours and he's now charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto.
According to reports filed by the National Transportation Safety Board or NTSB, Roper has been driving at 65 mph 60 seconds before the crash. He also ignored a sign that warns drivers that there's an ongoing construction and that lanes are closed. Another sign advises motorist to reduce speed to at least 45 mph.
Morgan is still recovering from all the injuries he sustained. He gave thanks to all of his fans who's been very supportive of him and tells everyone that he's been "fighting hard" to come back.
