Samsung Gear S Latest News and Release Date: Features 2-inch OLED display is certainly the largest smartwatch plus a 3G Connectivity!

The latest Samsung smartwatch that will hit the market soon would be the Samsung Gear S. It features a curved face, 2-inch OLED display,is certainly is the largest. And with 3G connectivity, the Gear S is one of the few smartwatches allowing you to get online even if you are nowhere near your smartphone.

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless are among the top mobile carriers to offer the wearable device.

The Samsung Gear S will mark the sixth line of smartwatches since Samsung announced Galaxy Gear last year. And leading mobile manufacturers,  Apple,HTC, Motorola, and Sony had followed suit.

One of the best Samsung Gear S feature will be the use of 3G and WiFi to access the Web. Its Bluetooth connection keeps the Gear S linked to a compatible smartphone even when that phone is not in immediate proximity.

In a recent release on the device, Samsung Electronics CEO and head of IT and mobile communication J.K. Shin explained:

"The Samsung Gear S redefines the idea of the smart wearable device and the culture of mobile communication. It will let consumers live a truly connected life anywhere, anytime."

Samsung Gear S specs would include 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and a 300mAh battery. Samsung says the Gear S battery can last up to 2 full days.

The device will rely on the Tizen operating system. Tizen is Samsung's answer to Android as a mobile OS.
