Destiny: The long awaited follow-up is here: Released on midnight 9th September 2014.
Halo developer Bungie's new Destiny to be launched at EB Games in Liverpool.
The new video game features a central hub where players can return after each mission. In this version players can choose their races and can also step into one of three avatars: hunter, warlock or titan. There are unique combat features in all three avatars. The new Destiny can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Players in the dark:
According to lead designer Luke Smith, the raid missions have been deliberately created so that players receive no directions and players are left to figure out the techniques themselves. They will need the assistance of the Internet.
Skirmish:
Skirmish has three-on-three modes, which resembles Control. Revives are turned on so co-skirmishers have longer respawn timers. This requires higher co-ordination between teammates than Control does.
Trade offs:
Once weapons are earned, the Guardians in the players' accounts will be able to trade them. But the weapons belong to the players themselves since they acquire them through their actions and courage.
No surprises:
Bungie has not changed much of Destiny's structure or combat style. It is because the gunplay is so popular that things won't change much in the coming sequels in the studio's decade long deal with Activision.
Destiny Google Street View:
Activision has given a twist to the promotion of Bungie's latest fist-person shooter. It has launched a website called Destiny Planet View, which allows you to take a tour of Destiny locales with a tool similar to Google Street View
Launch:
Launch activities started from 9 pm AEST and featured a caricature artist, a live DJ, and a photo booth with a green screen to boot. The game itself was available from 12.01 am.
Keep playing...and playing:
Bungie has warned before that players may never be able to finish the game, so it can go on and on. There is infinite time and hours of excitement in store for the players. According to the designers, "Until you've kicked every ass that plays this game, you haven't finished.
