Half Life's fan base and its level of unfailing critical acclaim are some of the things that game companies would have wished for. As the game is already making a mark in history, many fans are really waiting for the release of the new Half Life 3.

Although the original game of the franchise was released in 1998, the game was also ported to the PlayStation 2 in 2001 by Gearbox Software. The sequel of the game was released in 2004 after there was a protracted development phase, and it was followed by a couple of add-on packs. In the recent past, Gabe Newell, Valve head-honcho, confirmed that they have been working on Half Life 3. At Gamescom in 2012, it was discovered that what looked like evidence of its presence-when half life 3 was included on a list of all the titles in a PDF from the games show's website that would be announced at a conference.

But we collectively said let's try to make multi-player games even if there's never been a commercial successful multi-player game."

While these comments and news about Half Life 3 are not impressive at all, and could easily put off interested buyers, one takeaway is that if Valve does not produce a second sequel, it would surely have a fearsome multiplayer mode built in.
