NBC's Constantine Will Possibly Mash-Up With Justice League Dark Film Says Director Guillermo Del Torro
DC Comics and Warner Brothers has been busy with producing a Justice League film especially with Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice anticipated release in 2016. The DC/Warner Bros. has been busy as well with their television properties. This coming fall will see at least 4 live action television series making its premiere. The CW's The Flash, and Arrow, FOX's Gotham and NBC's Constantine are all premiering this fall and are all under DC and Warner Brothers' properties.
Writer/Director Guillermo del Toro was asked by IGN whether the Justice League Dark film would tie-in with the upcoming Constantine NBC TV series. It has been known that unlike Marvel's films and TV series which are all set in one big universe, DC and Warner Bros. has made it clear that their TV and film universes are supposed to be separate universes. Guillermo del Toro was more open to the idea of a joint universe in terms of Justice League Dark by saying, "Now, if we see the TV series and we can mesh with it or cast the same actor depending on where the movie is going, I would be happy to consider that."
For those who are not entirely familiar with Justice League Dark, they are the supernatural equivalent of the Justice League, though they deal more with fighting demonic beings who threaten the Earth. Del Toro's Justice League Dark film will feature the line-up of Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Etrigan the Demon and the Floronic Man. Justice League Dark is currently in the scriptwriting stage of pre-production and will be expected to be released sometime between 2016 and 2020.
The NBC Constantine TV series looks very promising in terms of storytelling and special effects, and has fans excited for the premiere.
Constantine will premiere on October 24, Friday 10pmET on NBC.
