Big Daddy Weave Releases New Single, 'The Only Name,' From Album, 'Love Come To Life,' To Radio
Big Daddy Weave, one of the top bands on Christian radio, has released their their third single to radio today entitled, 'The Only Name,' from their album, 'Love Come to Life.'
The band's last single, 'Redeemed,' has proved to be the most successful track of their entire career, ranking No. 1 on Christian radio charts for 12 weeks and selling over 250,000 unites, CM Spin reports.
'Redeemed' has also received a number of prestigious nominations for 'Song of the Year' within the category of Christian music. It has recently been nominated for 'Christian Song of the Year' at the 2013 Billboard music Awards and on June 1, it is up for 'Song of the Year' at the 'K-LOVE Fan Awards.'
Big Daddy Weave has also been awarded the Dove Award's New Artist of the year in 2002 as well as the Dove Christmas Album of the Year in 2010, according to CM Spin. They have been honored at ASCAP's Christian Music Awards, were chosen to contribute to the 'WOW Hits' compilation in five of the past six years and are one of the most played artists on Christian radio in the last ten years.
The five-piece band is comprised of Mike on lead vocals and guitar, Jeff on drums, Jay on bass and vocals, Joe on Saxophone and keyboard and Jeremy on guitar and vocals, according to their website. Their hits have includes, 'In Christ,' 'Audience of One,' 'You're Worthy Of My Praise,' 'Every Time I Breat,' 'What Life Would Be Like,' 'You Found Me' and 'Redeemed.'
"I spend more time in fellowship with these guys than any church members spend together. This is the church of the 45-foot bus going down whatever road it is today. It's the fellowship of my Christian brothers," Joe said of the band, according to their website. "The work that God has done in our band makes it all new again because of our sense of purpose, not just to make music but to be used of God. And that's the bottom line--what God wants us to do with this,"agreed Mike.
"We're seeing the things God has done, we are very full of vision for the future and in so many ways it just feels brand new to us right now," said Mike of the band, according to their website.
Big Daddy Weave has just finished the spring portion of 'The Redeemed Tour,' which included a number of sold out shows on 49 different dates and in 27 different states, CM Spin reports. They were joined on the World Vision sponsored tour by artists like Christ August, Mikechair and Citizen Way. They are set to also have a 'The Only Name Tour' beginning in the fall.
