Museum of the Bible Exhibit Offers Virtual tour of 7 Pilgrim Churches of Rome
Museum of the Bible is proud to announce the debut of its new exhibition, "A Journey of Faith: The Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome," featuring a stunning collection of prints from the Vatican Library.
This limited-time exhibition invites guests to explore the spiritual history and importance of each of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome and to discover the sacred relics that have drawn pilgrims to these churches for centuries.
"At Museum of the Bible, we are honored to bring to light the rich spiritual and cultural significance of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome," said Museum of the Bible Chief Curator Jeff Kloha. "Through this exhibition, we hope to offer visitors a journey through the history and devotion behind these sacred places. We believe that this exhibition will offer valuable insights, even to those unfamiliar with the subject matter, and inspire meaningful reflection on the importance of pilgrimage to people of faith."
As visitors embark on this visual journey through the heart and soul of the Eternal City within this special series, they will have the opportunity to learn about the history surrounding these significant artifacts and the biblical stories that await pilgrims in these sacred places. This exhibition, relevant for lovers of art and history, as well as for devout pilgrims seeking spiritual renewal, offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and purpose of the Tour of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome.
The Vatican Library and Museum of the Bible recently renewed their long-term collaboration. In the years ahead, two new exhibitions will be presented annually. In addition, the gallery features a new film about the Vatican Library and their biblical manuscripts collection.
"I am particularly happy about the collaboration which has been implemented between the Vatican Library and Museum of the Bible," said His Excellency Msgr. Angelo Vincenzo Zani, Archivist and Librarian of the Holy Roman Church. "I look forward to seeing it develop further in the future for the continued mutual benefit of both institutions."
"The Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome are a testament to the enduring power of faith and the human spirit," stated exhibition curator Dr. Corinna Ricasoli, Consultant Curator of Fine Arts at the Vatican. "Through this exhibition, we hope to offer visitors a one-of-a-kind immersive experience that not only showcases the beauty of these churches but also reveals the deep historical and cultural significance of pilgrimage. It is an opportunity to explore the intersection of art, religion, and history, and to gain a newfound appreciation for the rich heritage that has inspired generations of believers."
"A Journey of Faith: The Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome" exhibition will open on May 12, 2023, and will run through September 10, 2023. For more information, visit https://www.museumofthebible.org/exhibits/the-seven-pilgrim-churches-of-rome.
