Game of Thrones Season 5: All You Need To Know On The Release Date And Official Announcements Of The Fifth Season Of Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones finally got a fifth season and it was officially commissioned by HBO on 8th April 2014 after getting an increase in audience figures in its third and fourth season. This trilling series has seen its better and worse days and the fact that HBO gave it a fifth season only means that they are happy with the figures it pulled in with its third and fourth season hence deserving a fifth season.
Now the fifth season will be followed by the sixth season which will both be commissioned concurrently. This is the first time HBO has done so far when it comes to a major drama series.
The new season is expected to have 10 episodes and they are expected to launch production in July 2014. We still do not know the exact date when it will start however, we know the month which will be in July and it is expected to run late into the year.
The producers remain the same as David Benioff and D.B Weiss will return as the executive producers and also the show runners in both seasons, season five and six. They did sign a two year contract with HBO early this year for its production.
Season 5 is expected to contain materials from both the fourth and fifth novels of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire", "A Dance with Dragons" and "A Feast for Crows"
Season 5 will premiere in April 2015 which will be next year.
