EPA Office of Water is Caught Playing Kardashian Game after Being Given Away by Tweet; Representatives Dingell and Stockman not Amused
The United States Environmental protection agency is responsible for making sure that drinking water is safe and focuses on the surety of the aquatic water systems in general. However, just yesterday there was tweet from the office that did not have very much to do with ensuring safety of aquatic systems or drinking water. The context of the text read and I quote "I'm now a C-List celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood", and there was "Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone". The interesting thing is that the tweet stayed for some hours and garnered over 3000 retweets before it was pulled and the Michigan Democratic Rep. John Dingell even had a chance to comment.
When they were approached by FOX411, they responded by stating that an EPA fellow had triggered an auto generated tweet by mistake (Are you serious?). Apparently she regrets the mistake and has been advised on the intricacies of representing an official government agency on social media. The game is an app and the latest product which is estimated to earn Kim some 85 million dollars. The game is an animated immersion into the glamorous life of Kim Kardashian featuring things that are present in the celebrity world. These include opening A-list clubs, taking photo shoots and feuding with wannabe celebrities in a bid to get more publicity.
It is a fame game and it gives non celebrities the chance to experience how it would be to be one, much like the way GTA gives the chance of being a criminal on screen without the consequences in real life. The game is available from Apple's App Store and Glu mobile which is the company behind the release of the game have driven up their share price from booming business. However, that tweet was a serious lapse in judgment by the employee that sent it. She probably forgot that even representatives and the rest of the government have twitter accounts or something.
