Fresh Listening: New Music from Hillsong Worship, Danny Gokey, Verses, and Church Will Sing
This week, Hillsong Worship, Danny Gokey, Verses, and Church Will Sing have all dropped new singles. Here's your chance to catch up with the latest CCM releases.
1. Hillsong Worship Featuring Dave Ware and TAYA "Fresh Wind/What a Beautiful Name (Live)"
"'Fresh Wind' was born out of an urgency to see Christ's church rebuilt, restored and rescued," says Hillsong Worship's David Ware. "I believe that there comes a time and place in every generation where there is a significantly great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. A move of God that marks a whole generation of believers and welcomes a new generation of searching non-believers home - one so great that it is as unavoidable as the sound of an explosive gust of wind."
Ware adds, "It was incredible to finally record the voices of our church family singing this song over every person who is yet to hear this powerful confession. Our hope is that these words and their voices fill cars, homes, offices, hallways, hospital rooms, government buildings, prisons and anywhere else that this prayer needs to be heard and sung."
2. Verses "Thankful"
Verses is an Australian-based pop trio comprised of brothers Joel and Luke O'Dea and Luke's wife Jess. The band's debut single, "Thankful" is a joy-filled piano-driven pop anthem that plays like a montage of the band's beginnings and everything that came after. Finding real joy in the goodness of God has given the trio a spirit of gratefulness that colors every decision they make, and the timing couldn't be better to release the song.
"Since the moment the melody for 'Thankful' came to life, we have believed that it would bring a divine sense of thankfulness and joy into people's lives like it did for us," they explain. "We wanted to capture that sense in the music video for thankful; that in everyday situations, good and bad, we have a reason to be thankful. Whether that be the beauty of creation, the community around us, or even just the knowledge of Jesus in our lives. We had so much fun making the video in our hometown of Newcastle, Australia - a place to be very thankful for!"
3. Danny Gokey "Stand in Faith"
Danny Gokey has released a new song, "Stand In Faith," from his upcoming album. "I wrote this song to be an anthem that people can sing over their lives to encourage their faith for the miracles and breakthroughs they're believing God for," explains Danny Gokey about his new single. "Faith brings our hopes into reality!! It's the confidence and trust in God that's needed to acquire the things we long for but don't yet see. Faith invites God in to work on our behalf. More now than ever before, faith should be our bedrock & our foundation. I pray this song revives the hearts of many who listen to it and gives them the needed fuel to persevere in any difficult situation."
4. The Church Will Sing "Worthy Is Your Name (Exalted) [feat. Cecily & Reach City Worship]"
The Church Will Sing releases "Worthy Is Your Name (Exalted) [feat. Cecily & Reach City Worship]" is the second release this year from The Church Will Sing, with "The Risen Lamb Of God (feat. Matthews Ntlele and Bridge Worship)," being released this past April just after Easter Sunday. Written by Tony Wood, Lucas Cortazio, Evelyn Heideriqui, John Wesley Honaker, and Oscar Gamboa, "Worthy Is Your Name (Exalted) [feat. Cecily & Reach City Worship]" draws the church to experience the all-encompassing love of Jesus.
