Joe Budden Vs Hollow Da Don Pay Per View Rap Battle: Joe Budden Responds to why he Dropped the Mic
The first edition of Eminem's Pay Per View rap battle took place on July 13th. There were a variety of matches which took place during the event but everyone was waiting for the showdown between Joe Budden and Hollow Da Don. The promotion and hype for the match went on the whole day and at some point, Hollow stated that the judges were trying to rig the match in Joe's favor. However, he must have misread the game because it ended when Budden was unexpectedly booed during the performance by the audience to a point he dropped the microphone and walked off the stage.
According to an interview that Budden did with Angry Fans Radio, he was just doing what came naturally as protocol. People misread the reaction as the booing getting to him mentally and him not being able to keep face on stage. He reiterated and said that this was a gig just like any other meaning that when people start to boo: there are one of two things he is meant to do which are rapper basics. He can either wait for them to stop or he can walk off because he already been paid for the gig. His professionalized response of what went down was a bit cold.
He also blamed some of his premature stoppage on the poor quality of the equipment that he and Hollow had to deal with during the battle. Budden stated that those are just part of the things when battling that a rapper has to take into account and on this one it would seem that Hollow is the one who came out on top, but refuted the claims that his lyrics seemed that they were written to a beat and not free flowing. He said that, being a professional rapper his lyrics are meant to sound like that, but it was not intentional.
