For King & Country Enters Billboard Hot 100 for the First Time Thanks to Dolly Parton
Thanks to Dolly Parton's vocal input into For King & Country's "God Only Knows," the song received a boost in terms of sales, downloads, airplay and streams this week. This allows "God Only Knows" to debut at the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 94, marking the duo's first ever entry into the tally.
In terms of the Christian charts, "God Only Knows" rebounds 5-1 on Billboard's Christian Digital Song Sales chart for a second week at the summit. And it jumps 8-2 on Christian Streaming Songs, while adding a 22nd week at its No. 2 high on Hot Christian Songs. Interesingly, Parton is not credited on any of the charts noted, as, even with her version boosting the song overall, airplay and streams for the original still accounted for the majority of its consumption in the tracking week.
"God Only Knows" recently won "Song of the Year" honors at the K-LOVE awards, received a Dove Award nomination for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, and held the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Christian Songs chart for 11 weeks. Additionally, the song hit Top 30 on Mediabase and Billboard's Hot AC charts while garnering 330 million radio impressions and over 65 million streams across all digital platforms.
