Abby Johnson, the Inspiration Behind the Box Office Hit ‘Unplanned,’ Joins Pastor Jentezen Franklin for a ‘Family Meeting’
This Saturday, Pastor Jentezen Franklin will summon national Christian leaders, public servants, and the church community to a "family meeting" on the moral imperative to fight for the right to life while never forsaking the church's mission to provide grace to all. He is also pleased to now be able to officially welcome Abby Johnson, the inspiration behind the box office hit 'Unplanned.'
All Abby Johnson ever wanted to do was help women. As one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation, she was involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions and counseled countless women about their reproductive choices. Now, she tells the story of what she learned at her job and how she has become one of the most ardent pro-life advocates in America.
"As we began preparing for this moment, I knew that Abby Johnson and her story were exactly what is needed right now," said Free Chapel Senior Pastor Jentezen Franklin. "We're gathering Christians from across the country to find ways to be more supportive than we ever have been to women carrying the precious gift of life in the womb. Abby, more than anyone else, can also attest to the fact that the church needs to be a place where we offer hope and compassion for women who are grieving an abortion."
"I'm thrilled to have her join us as we as the church endeavor to make sure abortion alternatives are abundantly available in every community throughout the nation. This family meeting is for followers of Christ from every demographic and every political affiliation, including pastors and leaders who refrain from partisan politics, to unite and make a clear statement that life is a sacred gift from God and our job as the church is to be the best network of support for every life, from the womb to the tomb."
The "Life is Beautiful" meeting will take place on April 13 at 10AM at Free Chapel's Gainesville campus. Attending media are required to request credentials by April 10 by writing [email protected].
Among the leaders, politicians and faith leaders expected to attend, "Life is Beautiful" will also feature special guest and abortion survivor, Gianna Jessen, who will share her inspirational, true story. The morning will conclude with a ceremony where butterflies will be symbolically released in solidarity with the unborn and their mothers.
