Rory Feek To Release New Memoir "Once Upon a Farm" on June 19
On his small farm south of Nashville, songwriter, performer, filmmaker and author Rory Feek sometimes does what he calls lifesteading - which is often more about cultivating relationships with the community around him than it is farming. The New York Times bestselling author's second book digs deep into the soil of his life - deeper into the unconventional choices he and his wife made together and the ones he's making now to lead his family into the future. Once Upon A Farm: Lessons on Growing Love, Life, and Hope on a New Frontier (ISBN: 9780785216728, hardcover, www.onceuponafarmbook.com) will release on June 19, 2018, with W Publishing, an imprint of Thomas Nelson.
Two years after his wife Joey's passing, as Rory Feek takes their four-year-old daughter Indiana's hand and walks forward into an unknown future, he takes readers on his incredible journey from heartbreak to hope and, ultimately, the kind of healing that comes only through love and faith. A raw and vulnerable look deeper into Rory's heart, Once Upon a Farm is filled with powerful stories of how he and his family have navigated the unpredictable road life laid out for them - together.
"Life is strange - where one story ended, another began," Feek said in the trailer for the book.
With a spirit of love, and at times amazement, Feek shares how he has embraced new and unexpected experiences, while also sharing heartwarming moments from his life with his wife Joey.
"This isn't a how-to book; it's more of a how we, or more accurately, how He, God, planted us on a few acres of land and grew something bigger than Joey or I could have ever imagined," Feek said.
"Rory's giftedness as a storyteller is one of the main reasons we have loved him since we first got to know him," said Daisy Blackwell Hutton, Vice President of Thomas Nelson and Publisher of the W Publishing Group. "One of our core strategies at W is to identify great stories at the instersection of faith and culture. So, to have someone like Rory who has lived this incredible life, this incredible love, and has the ability to tell his story in a compelling way-it's really an ideal fit for what we do and the perfect recipe for a compelling, heart-warming book."
Feek is a New York Times Bestselling author, and GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter. He is most well-known as one-half of Joey+Rory, a country music duo he began with his wife, Joey. The couple captured the hearts of many as Rory chronicled their love story, the birth of their daughter Indiana and Joey's cancer battle on his blog, This Life I Live, as well as their preparation for her passing in March 2016 at age 40. Since, he's released a documentary, To Joey, With Loveand a memoir, This Life I Live: One Man's Extraordinary, Ordinary Life and the Woman Who Changed It Forever (Thomas Nelson). He has three daughters and lives on a farm south of Nashville with the youngest, four-year-old Indiana, where they garden vegetables, raise animals and live a simpler life.
