Hillsong Worship Former Leader Miriam Webster Gets Married
Hillsong Worship's former song writer and worship leader Miriam Webster has married Rabbi Jason Sobel this past weekend. Webster was part of Hillsong Worship from 1996 to 2007. She was featured on numerous on numerous Hillsong Worship albums since 1997. Among her notable congregational songs are "Dwelling Places", "Made Me Glad", "Welcome In This Place" and "You Are Faithful."
Webster writes: "A celebration of love today & oh how I love this amazing, heaven sent, wonderful man & I get to celebrate him the rest of my life! I love you, I cherish you."
Webster's former boss and good friend Darlene Zschech writes: "I can finally shout this from the rooftops!!! Congrats to my beautiful friend @miriam1webster and the man of her dreams @rabbijasonsobel. Mims and I spent years talking, praying and dreaming of this day... and even though we couldn't be together on this special occasion, to watch Gods faithfulness over her and Jason's life brings us SO much joy. We love you guys... dream big... love deep.. and have FUN."
Webster has traveled the globe leading people in worship with an extended stint in the USA recording, writing and touring. Her album Faithful includes selected songs recorded from over the years with her testimony song "Forever thankful" as a taste of new songs coming.
Webster says, "The songs are inspired from times where I received revelation and freedom in the presence of God. I think writers often want to express these revelations through song because we want others to share such joy, healing and hope found only in God. We love worshipping Jesus with others and encountering his manifest presence individually and corporately. We want to know more and more the depth and power of his love for us that dispels every fear and to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying".
Back in Australia Miriam has been focussed on writing, recording whilst investing into her local church, HopeUC. Along with Zschech and the team at HopeUC Miriam continues to lead people into the presence of God. With trademark humility, Miriam puts her songs' popularity down to other factors: "God wants to meet with His people personally and make us whole and strong in Him - the way he designed us to be. I look forward to more and more freedom in worship so his children can be strengthened in His presence, freely declaring who Christ is and who we are in him. We can pick up the baton and take hope to generations."
'Generations, love and hope' - the simple stuff of faith that changes the culture around it. Thanks to individuals like Miriam Webster in this generation who bring heavenly songs from God's word for healing and hope and for many more songs to come..
