Lecrae Joins Chris Tomlin, MercyMe & Switchfoot for Harvest Ministries' Crusade
For the fourth time in Harvest Ministries' 26-year history, they are doing a massive evangelistic outreach crusade led by evangelist, author and preacher Greg Laurie. The crusade will take place at the 108,000 seat capacity of the world-renown AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, plus the live stream and satellite feed to thousands of remote venues across the nation on March 6. 375 churches in north Texas are already participating in Harvest America, hoping to see it make a significant impact in their congregations and communities. Hundreds of host venues have signed up for the live simulcast.
Christian rapper Lecrae will be joining a lineup of Christian artists in providing the music for the crusade. Other top artists in contemporary Christian music performing that night will be Chris Tomlin, MercyMe and Switchfoot.
"The addition of Lecrae to our lineup makes Harvest America a much bigger draw for audiences in both the Dallas-Fort Worth area as well as around the country" says Pastor John Collins, executive director of Harvest America to Charismanews. "He reaches communities and young people who might not be as interested in more traditional music styles, and we hope these individuals will want to come hear his story as well as stay to hear how God can transform their lives ..."
In preparation for the March 6 crusade, organizers are currently holding dozens of church involvement meetings throughout the Metroplex, helping church leaders and volunteers understand how to make the crusade a success for both the Metroplex and their individual congregations. More than one million invitations are being distributed for the event, with 5,000 volunteer counselors and 1,000 volunteer ushers being recruited. New for this year, churches will be able to participate in a mass choir comprised of worship leaders and their worship teams that will demonstrate through song the unity of the Church across the region.
