Darlene Zschech Updates Us on Her Health, New Album Progress, Touring Plans & "In Jesus Name"
It has been two years since Darlene Zschech released her live worship album "Revealing Jesus" and more than a year since her bout with breast cancer. Now, this former Hillsong Church pastor updates us about her health, her new full-length album, and her touring plans. Furthermore, Integrity Music will be releasing a compilation album of this "Shout to the Lord" singer on February 10th entitled In Jesus' Name: A Legacy of Worship and Faith.
In a recent blog, Zschech says that slowly but surely her health has vastly improved. She is currently writing songs for a new studio album full of brand new songs that she hopes to release later in the year. She writes: "And personally, I received another great report from the oncologist. It's all onwards and upwards. Slowly, slowly, but I am getting there! Again as always, we are grateful for your prayers, love and care. Mark and I and our whole family are seriously eternally thankful. I am also slowly getting back into the studio..."
Zschech, who used to tour the world with her team, has stopped touring due to her health. However, now she'll be back on the road. Zschech together with Israel Houghton and Planetshakers will headline the 2015 National Worship Leader Conferences (NWLC). The NWLC, the premier three-day training event, is designed to equip worship leaders and their teams, has announced a slate of renowned speakers and top artists for its four popular conferences around the country this year.
Next week, Integrity Music will release her compilation album "In Jesus' Name: A Legacy of Worship and Faith." The album is a 14-song record that is a celebration of Zschech's ministry and features such well-known anthems as "Shout To The Lord," "Worthy is the Lamb," "The Potter's Hand" and "In Jesus' Name." Also included on the recording is Zschech's song, "My Highest Hope," which will go to radio this month. Written during her recent battle with cancer, the song, and this album, is a declaration that despite what our circumstances are, we have hope and victory in Jesus' name.
In our review of the album, this is what we have said: "Scriptural, anointed, Christ-centered, these songs are what give the fire as well as vocabulary to modern worship. As far as worship music is concerned, Zschech is the tour-de-force."
