"Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 Episode 6 Recap: Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em, Jax Teller to Unite SAMCRO, the One-Niners, the Grim Bastards and the Mayans
In this episode of "Sons of Anarchy", titled "Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em", Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) was able to unite the biker gangs --- SAMCRO, the One-Niners, the Grim Bastards and the Mayans. Meanwhile, Gemma (Katey Sagal) was out-of-trouble as Juice (Theo Rossi) decided not to kill her, but her new found peace will soon be over. The greatest surprise of the episode was the guest appearance of Lea Michele, posing as a waitress who had a heart-to-heart talk with Gemma.
The episode starts with Jax deciding not to kill Gemma. However, he took her 2013 Navigator and drove off to a robbed a liquor store. Then he goes off to Stockton and met up with the Mayans. He wanted to cut a deal, $2,000 dollars and the Navigator in exchange for a his safety, a new identity and a trip to Mexico. Unfortunately, Marcus (Emilio Rivera) did not take it and called the club instead. In exchange for Juice and some Heroin, they get the Irish guns that were previously contracted with August Marks (Billy Brown).
Wearing spiked-heeled boots, Gemma walked 12 miles to reach a diner where she met a waitress named Gertie, played by Lea Michele. During her conversation with the young lady, she opened up her feelings about the death of her daughter-in-law.
"It was my fault," she said. "But it's done now. Can't stop it. It's life, right?"
But there isn't a good ending to her story. After the motherly conversation, she was picked up by Unser to give the police a statement about Tara's death. As expected, she lied to save her own ass. More lies are coming our way, not unless the old lady finally confess.
Back to the Juice, Jax, Chibs and Bobby were dragging him to some place where everyone knows what might happen, seems like he will be facing his creator soon. The question remains, will he be using Gemma's secret as a leverage or the better question, will Jack believe the information he has?
Clearly, this season has been guided by Tara's death, Gemma's lies and Jax's revenge.
With all the bad stuff happening in the show, there was one good thing about this episode that's surely noticeable. There's a hint that Jax might want to change the tradition, mixing races under one hood. It's hard to assume actually so I think it's safe to wait for more clues, before we affirm the possibility of the club accepting more than one race.
