Gal Gadot, the future "Wonder Woman", might be in another hot role, once again.
The actress hit two stones in a day when she was officially announced as the next "Wonder Woman" and the lead female role in Paramount and MGM Picture's "Ben-Hur". The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Gadot was overwhelmed when, aside from the heroine-inspired movie, she is included in the initial negotiations in the Timur Bekmambetov's movie, also.
Scheduled to arrive in theaters on Feb 26, 2016, the modern "Ben-Hur" was scripted by no less than Keith Clarke of "The Way Back", with revisions from John Ridley, Academy Award-winner for "12 Years a Slave". The classic epic story will be based in the 1880 novel by Lew Wallace, entitled "Ben-Hur: A Tale of The Christ".
The film's main plot will focus on faith. The leading role will be portrayed by Jack Huston- a nobleman, who, despite false accusations will survive the many years of being a slave just to be able to deliver vengeance on his friend Messala, who betrayed him. Ben-Hur's freedom will require several chariot races. The nobleman and his friend will then choose between forgiveness or retribution.
Gadot will be playing the role of Esther, the slave and love interest of the leading man. Toby Kebbell will be portraying the role of "Messala" while Morgan Freeman will take the role of Ben-Hur's trainer in chariot-racing.
"Ben-Hur" will be produced by John Ridley, Roman Downey, Keith Clarke, Jason F. Brown, Joni Levin, Sean Daniel, and Mark Burnett.
The movie will be shot in Europe in the first quarter of next year.
Gadot, definitely, is having a great year with other must-watch projects. The "Fast & Furious" star will, also, be leading the movie "Wonder Woman" in 2017 as announced by Warner Bros., "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League Part One". She's just wrapped-up work with Kate Winslet for "Triple Nine" by John Hillcoat, not to mention her project with Ryan Reynolds in the movie "Criminal" by Ariel Vromen.
Gadot is represented by ADD Agency, Untitled Entertainment, and ICM Partners out of Felker Toczek and Israel.
