'Xperia Z3 Vs Galaxy Note 4 Comparison:' Which Is The Better Phablet? Samsung Has Better Processor And Features; Sony Wins In Design And Price
Apple may have conquered the tech-market for almost a month now, after the launch and release of their most anticipated iPhone 6 series. Their biggest smartphone today have generated record breaking sales that neutralized the handset market share, once led by Samsung.
But the battle is not over yet. Samsung won’t retreat and Sony will try to join. Along with the launch of iPhone 6 series, Sony Xperia Z3 and Galaxy Note 4 was also launched last month. TMonews cited that the two new flagship smartphones of Samsung and Sony are high-caliber phablets that has individual selling points.
Xperia Z3 is waterproof while Note 4 has its unique S-pen. So if you are looking for a phablet, here is the comparison of the two tech-advance and aesthetically appealing large smartphones.
PC Advisor compared the two smartphones in terms of design and found out that Note 4, because it is bigger, is heavier than Xperia Z3, 176g and 152g. Sony’s flagship, on the other hand, Sony is thinner than Samsung’s at 7.3mm compared to 8.5mm.
Both phones on the other hand have metal chassis but Sony Xperia Z3 has combined aluminum and glass plus added new nylon covers that will protect the phone in case of fall, while Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has faux leather back. Z3 is also dust and waterproof unlike Note 4.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the bigger 5.7-inch screen compared to Sony Xperia Z3’s 5.2-inch display. While Note 4 has Quad HD screens, Z3 like its predecessor has Full HD resolution. Samsung also powered Note 4 with Super AMOLED technology while Sony included its own Triluminos X-Reality technology to Z3.
In terms of processor and performance, Next Digit cited that Galaxy Note 4 has the better processor, as it is the first smartphone powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. This processor ‘provides excellent graphics as well as performance of the device’. Xperia Z3, on the other hand, is equipped with Snapdragon 805 chipset.
Samsung’s flagship phone also has larger internal memory compared to Sony’s smartphone at 32GB and 16Gb. Both handsets allow storage expansion through micro SD and the two are also equipped with 3GB RAM. They are also powered with Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Meanwhile, Xperia Z3 is superior in terms of its snapper at 20.7MP rear camera compared to Note 4’s 16MP. Samsung gets the trophy again in terms of its face-front camera at 3.7 MP while Sony has 2.2 MP front cam only.
As mentioned earlier, one of Note 4’s stand-out features is the S-Pen stylus. It also has IR blaster, fingerprint scanner, heart monitor and UV sensor that Xperia Z3 doesn’t have. Sony’s unique features, on the other hand, include high quality front-facing stereo speakers and PS4 Remote Play.
In terms of cost, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is more expensive compared to Sony Xperia Z3. Without a carrier, a Note 4 will sift an estimated $900 to your pocket while Z3 is available at $530 only.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is superior in terms of its processor and features but Sony Xperia Z3 is sleeker and more affordable. It all boils down to your needs and budget. Either phone is worth the buy.
