iPad Air 2 Release Date 2014: Along with Price and Other Details

Apple has finally unveiled the much anticipated iPad Air 2 along with Retina iMac in a special event on Thursday. It is definitely one of the slimmest models by the company boasting around 18% width cut from the predecessor at a mere 6.1 mm thickness and 0.96 pound weight.

Now fans await its official release date in the market along with an expected price before they can compare the latest model with recently released Nexus 9. According to Mac World, this tablet is open for preorders by today and will be ready for shipping by next week. They believe that Apple will release it in the market by Oct 24. However, Apple has made no official statement on any such availability date for iPad Air 2.

As far as the price is concerned, the basic 16 GB WiFi model is available at $499 while users will have to pay $599 and $699 for 64 GB and 128 GB models respectively. As Apple users already know that cellular compatibility is not really a plus point with Apple tablets, for that they will have to give around extra $100 for each model. Although iPad Air 2 is definitely more expensive than Nexus, its slender design and advanced features make it a desirable gadget for every Apple fan out there.

In terms of feature, iPad Air 2 is loaded with the most advanced technologies under Apple. The Retina display gives it 2048 × 1536 resolution on a brilliant 9.7-inch display. Running on a 64-bit processor, it offers up to 10 hours of battery backup and faster graphics. This tablet also offers the new iSight camera with a photo signal processor to automatically enhance picture-taking powers of the device. The camera works brilliantly in low-light settings at 8MP. Video recording is also quite interesting at 1080p HD.  

Then of course there is Touch ID for fingerprint recognition adding to the safety of this device. iPad Air 2 will also offer Apple Pay services soon enough. It runs on the newly introduced iOS 8 for effective synchronization with all other Apple devices.
