'Pirates of the Caribbean 5': High-Seas Film Premieres Its Fifth Installment in 2015
Fans have been waiting long for the next of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. There is good news, since the fifth installment is on the works and will premiere soon.
"Pirates of the Caribbean" is a series of fantasy swashbuckler film, which is based on Walt Disney's park ride of the same name. The franchise has premiered four installments with the first installment, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," which was released on the big screen last 2003. The second installment, subtitled "Dead Man's Chest" followed in 2006 after the success of the first film. In 2007, the franchise released the third installment, subtitled "At World's End." The fourth film, subtitled "On Stranger Tides," premiered last 2011 in conventional 2D, Digital 3-D, and IMAX 3-D. Now, the fifth installment, subtitled "Dead Men Tell No Tales," is in development at present.
Set in a fictional historical setting, which is a world that is dominated mainly by a blend of the British Empire and the East India Company, the pirates pave for freedom from the reigning powers.
As to the upcoming film cast members, Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. Moreover, the cast will also star Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as captain Barbosa, Jack avenport as James Norrington, Mackenzie Crook as Ragetti, Martin Klebba as Marti, Lee Arenberg as Pintel, and Keith Richards as Captain Teague.
According to NME, actor Javier Bardem will be playing the role of an evil seas captain who will contend with Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow. Bardem is known for his roles in films such as "Skyfall," "Sherman and Pacifico," "The Counselor" and "Automata".
Orlando Bloom also speaks his thoughts on returning to the franchise in the fifth installment, in Screenrant. "There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it. That whole experience working with John and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift."
The film is set to be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, together with Stuart Beattie, Ted Elliot, Jeff Nathanson, Terry Rossio and Jay Wolpert, serving as writers. Additionally, the forthcoming movie will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Barry Waldman.
The highly anticipated fifth installment is set to be released to theaters and cinemas on July 7, 2017.
