'Doctor Who' Season 8 Episode 8: The Doctor Goes Travelling on a Space Shuttle to the Moon with Clara and Courtney
The eighth episode of the "Doctor Who" season eight debuted last August 23, 2014 on BBC One.
In the recent episode, which is entitled "Kill the Moon," the doctor goes travelling with Clara and Courtney. Cinemablend reveals that in the episode, there is a large crack between Clara and the doctor.
They go to year 2049 on a space shuttle to the moon. They said the moon has about a hundred nuclear bombs. They discovered there that the moon has higher gravity. Soon, they meet Captain Lundvik. A mass high tide, which is believed to be caused by the moon, threatens human existence. After that, an astronaut is attacked by a spider-like creature.
Later on, they see colonists in spider webs. The doctor finds out that the moon's mass increases, which causes the abrupt tidal shift. Another spider attacks them. After that, the doctor realizes that the spiders are just germs. To add, the doctor comes into a conclusion that the moon is an egg and something inside it is about to hatch. Captain Lundvink says that they should kill it, a suggestion that is rejected by Clara. The doctor leaves them so that they can resolve things by themselves. They contacted the dwellers of planet Earth for the decision. People want to save the planet first. Clara hampers and stops the countdown that will trigger the bombs. The doctor returns and saves them from the moon. After that, they watch as the shell cracks to hatch. The new egg laid is the new moon. Angrily, Clara defies the doctor and leaves them and TARDIS.
The eighth episode is entitled "Mummy on the Orient Express". In this episode, Clara is with the doctor once again for a last outing because soon she will be leaving the TARDIS and the doctor. They ride on the train called the Orient Express, which travels in space. The doctor realizes that an old woman has been killed by something only she could see. The creature was known as an Egyptian Mummy called the "Foretold." The doctor also notes that the Mummy will only be seen by its target, and it will slay its target in sixty-six seconds.
The train has a built-in computer program named Gus. According to Hufftingtonpost, Gus is a "computerized puppet master" that manipulates the Foretold. Gus gives the doctor a task of catching the Mummy. According to Hypable, the doctor makes himself as bait to the Foretold. At that point, the doctor also finds out that the Foretold is a dead soldier that is motorized by futuristic science. By giving up, the doctor releases the Mummy, which saves the people in the train. After that, Clara calls Danny over the phone, and informed him that she is not yet parting paths with the doctor.
