The Book Of Life, Release Date, Review And Latest Updates: The Mexican Holiday, Día de los Muertos (The Day Of The Dead), To Be Celebrated With The Book Of Life Film Animation
We have the latest for you on the release date, review and latest updates of The Book Of Life animation film. When one thinks of death, many would shy off to think or talk about the subject but going by the Mexican culture, their perspective is very cheery which makes them stand out. This is what has led Guillermo Del Toro's animated feature, 'The Book of Life' will make some refreshing views among all the shadowy skulls and bloody ghosts of the unusual Halloween Movie fare. The movie going as per GMA Network news is going to be one of a kind block buster.
Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution, as the movie kicks off, it shows some American kids entering a museum where they are taken to a secret entrance by their tour guide Mary Beth (Christina Applegate), she shows them of all the wonders that Mexico has to offer and that includes the Book of Life. She tells the kids of a story, the one day gods of the dead and married couple La Muerte (Kate del Castillo) and Xibalba (Ron Pearlman had taken bets as to whom the feisty Maria (Zoe Saldana) of San Angel would marry. Would it be Joaquin (Channing Tatum) described as a hot blooded soldiers son or would it be Manolo (Diego Luna), a sweet musician and a bullfighter?
This proves to be quite a predicament as on one hand if Maria marry's Joaquin, Xibalba gets to rule over the land of the remembered, this is where as per the story the spirits of the remembered dead go, and La Muerte must stay in the land of the Forgotten, land of the forgotten souls. While on the other side of the coin, if Maria chooses Manolo, Xilbalba will no longer meddle in the affairs of the living. While all the characters are children, it would seem Maria had chosen Manolo as before she leaves for Spain, they both share touchy moments that would hint some love brewing.
Years after when Maris returns, Joaquin is now the town's hero as he became a soldier while Manolo is in the family business of bullfighting. Maria still seems to choose Manolo which makes Xilbalba jealous and sends a snake to poison Manolo which forces his soul to journey across two worlds with four goals in mind; save San Angel from fearsome outlaw Chaka, save San Angels dead Inhabitants from being thrown to the land of the forgotten, save himself and finally reunite with Maria.
The Book of Life will be in cinemas on October 16th.
