Arrow Season 3 Episode Spoilers and Preview: Sara Dies, Arrow Goes After Komodo
Arrow Season 3 episode 2 which airs Wednesday, October 15, at the 8 PM time slot on The CW network is entitled "Sara." Written by Jake Coburn with Keto Shimizu and directed by Wendey Stanzler, the second installment in this season's TV adaptation of the DC Comics series "will find Oliver hunting down a vicious killer and mercenary who is wanted for murder in seven countries and now is targeting victims who are associated with a specific company" according to TV Line. It will have police captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) once more calling on the Arrow (Stephen Amell) for help when another archer appears in town and starts killing businessmen. John Diggle (David Ramsey) using his A.R.G.U.S. connections learns the mysterious archer's identity. He is a man named Simon Lacroix (guest star Matt Ward), who goes by the codename Komodo. He may have also been the one who shot and killed Sara/Black Canary (Caity Lotz) in last week's episode's ending scene.
Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim in an interview with IGN describes next week's episode as "probably one of our most emotionally gut-wrenching episode, as it needs to be, as it should be, because this character's death affects all of the characters on this show. It's kind of brutal. I will say - I don't want to spoil it too much - but we chose the title 'Sara' because it actually has a double meaning. I really don't want to say more than that, but it does have a double meaning. And it's harsh. I will say there's the question of what should be done with Sara's body. There's the question of who do they tell? Do they tell Lance, for example, that his daughter died a second time? There's the emotional repercussions for everybody, but it definitely has repercussions for Oliver and Felicity and it has repercussions for Felicity and Ray Palmer. And obviously for Laurel. Laurel's very much at the center of that episode." Despite what she her promised to her dying sister, Laurel will be seen struggling about sharing a certain secret about Sara with father Lance.
Meanwhile, Oliver will also be worrying as to the whereabouts of his sister Thea (Willa Holland) whom he hasn't heard from since their mother's funeral, forcing Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) to tell him the truth about why she left town. Elsewhere, Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) will continue pursuing Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). And in the flashback portions of the episode, Maseo (guest star Karl Yune) tells Oliver that Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) has ordered his first kill, which turns out to be his best friend, Tommy Merlyn (guest star Colin Donnell).
