Windows 10 VS OS X Yosemite: Which Is Better?
Both Apple and Microsoft are preparing to release the new versions of their desktop operating systems. OS X 10.10 Yosemite and Windows 10 have several similarities, but they differ in particular areas.
Prior to the release of Windows 10, Microsoft faces a tough challenge. This should replace Windows 8 with something much popular to stimulate a declining PC market. However, simultaneously, it can't afford to step back from its push so that Windows will be a viable choice in a growing mobile space. Windows 8 is an uncomfortable compromise between the desktop Windows and touchscreen tablet OS. That's why Windows 10 should do better. This is also the reason why this is Windows 10 instead of Windows 9.
Microsoft also stated that Windows 10 will be the operating system that works cross-platform. This should work across desktop, mobile and tablet with apps that may work on such platforms. It also reinstated the famous features like the Start Menu and adding new multitasking features, which further gel the new and old interfaces of Windows.
On the other hand, Apple has a solid desktop platform in the OS X and a successful mobile platform in iOS for iPad and iPhone. In the past two years, sage observers are talking about the 2 being merged, but everyone knows for a fact that OS X Yosemite will launch this year, which is a separate operating system to iOS 8. However, Yosemite includes a complete visual overhaul and numerous new features are aimed at creating Macs play good with iPads and iPhones.
When it comes to the release date of the new operating systems, both Microsoft and Apple still don't know when to launch such OS as both are still under the development process. But, what everyone knows now is that Windows 10 as well as OS X Yosemite do exist.
It is also expected that Yosemite will be a minor bump on the road. Users of Mac OS will surely install it, some will complain, and many would dislike it. Windows 10, on the other hand, is also the development of the past operating systems and would bring a positive change.
