The Lego Movie 2 Release Date, Reveals, Teasers and Updates: Jared Stern to Write Screenplay while Chris McKay to Direct Upcoming 2017 Movie
If you loved Legos as a child then you must be positively smitten after the release of the first movie. The best thing about Legos right now apart from Legoland is the fact that there is another movie coming out on May 26th 2017. Considering that a sequel was in the works even before the first one was released in 2014, three years seems like a long time to wait. The movie that took a paltry 60 million dollars to make raked in 467 dollars in the box office so at least they know they did something right. Warner Bros are looking to rake in the cash all by themselves and this time has decided they do not need Village Roadshow. According to imdb news, Jared Stern is set to write the script while Chris McKay is sitting in the Directors chair.
Considering the hundreds if not thousands of Lego characters we have no idea what plot they shall be exploiting this time. However, no matter what happens we know everything will be awesome. Some actors are set to return so we know their characters are still in. Obnoxious Batman is set to make a comeback although Will Arnet has not confirmed work on the project and is said to be thinking about it. Chris Pratt may be coming back as Emmett again making us unsure as to whether it's a sequel or a whole new movie with an independent story line. Another group, the fans are looking forward to, no doubt, is the master builders and their amazing creations.
Making a Lego movie is not as simple as it seems and a lot of work goes into it explaining the waiting time somewhat but fans are not convinced. Bringing the opening date forward is highly unlikely but we hope Lego will not decide to push it forward, 2017 is far enough. Composer Mark Mothersbaugh will also have to put in a lot of work to best himself after the success that was 'Everything is Awesome'.
