'Hannibal Season 3' Receives Good Reviews; Serial Killer Series Creator Bryan Fuller: 'I Consider Us An Art Show'
"I consider us an art show," said Bryan Fuller, creator of serial killer series "Hannibal."
Now on its third season, "Hannibal" has earned good reviews from different acknowledged critics and created a solid fan base from its success from the first two seasons.
Fuller was not expecting from this series as much as not being so fortunate in his past production to making it to second full season, the grim of the known series that eyes David Bowie, which he describes as the perfectly fit talent to star as the protagonist, earns its own reputation.
Since Bowie was not able to make it due to his hectic schedule, Fuller discussed with Screen Rant about "Hannibal."
"We were told by his people, when we got the pick-up for the third season, to make sure to ask again for his availability. So, once we have our dates, we are going to ask again. I think the man walks on water, so I would love to be in his orbit, in some way, he is very aware (of the offer)," Fuller said of Bowie.
"But he is also very, very busy. He's got lots of exciting things coming out, musically. That was the block of the second season. He is incredibly busy," Fuller added.
In addition to that, Fuller said, "I love that we are pretentious art show. I love pretension and I love art. Under the Skin was my favorite movie of the year. I love to be as pretentious and as artsy as we can be."
In terms of the production design of "Hannibal," Fuller said Dario Argento is a big influence on the show.
"There is something so purple and so operatic about what he has always done, particularly his use of colors and never being afraid of the garish and embracing that as a part of his vocabulary. So, there is going to be a bit of Dario Argento there. There has been, and I think we are going to embrace that aesthetic," Fuller explained.
"Hannibal" is returning to NBC for the third season in 2015, premiere date to be announced.
