iPad Air is one of the pioneer devices that made the tablet family pretty popular. Apple's high-end tablet was latterly joined by one of the biggest tech giant Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Now these days, buyers have wide angle of choices since there have been lot of arrival in the tablet world with different operating system. But still the high-end market of the tablet is in the hand of these two biggest technically sound companies. So let's go through a small comparison between Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Apple iPad Air.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 leads the camera segment. It offers 8MP rear facing camera with 1080p HD video recording speed at 30 frames per second. The front facing camera is 2.1 MP, which also comes with high-resolution video recording system. On the other hand iPad Air comes with 5MP rear facing camera with 1080p HD video recording system. The front facing camera supports 720p video recording, which is 1.2MP. Both the devices have single LED flash. HDR is also supported on both the devices.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes with the typical perforated faux leatherback, which has also been introduced in Galaxy S5. The tablet is 6.6mm thick and weighs 465 grams while iPad Air is 7.5mm and weighs 469 grams.
The display size of Galaxy Tab S is 10.5 -inch, which has 2560 x 1600 resolution with Super AMOLED display. The pixel density is quite sharp with 288ppi. It is the first tablet to feature AMOLED screen. The display size of iPad Air is 9.7-inch. The resolution of the device is 2048 x 1536 along with pixel density of 264 ppi. Both the device has Corning Gorilla Glass protected display.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S is powered by Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset with quad core 1.9 GHz and quad core 1.3 GHz processor. GPU is Mali T628MP6 with six cores. It comes with 3GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. The iPad Air comes with Apple A7 64-bit 1.3GHz processor and the GPU is G6430 Power VR.1 GB RAM is slotted in the device. Galaxy Tab S runs on Android KitKat v4.4.2 and iPad Air is operated by iOS 7.1.2. The price of iPad Air is around $440 with 16GB memory whereas Galaxy Tab S price is around $620.
