NCIS: New Orleans "Musician Heal Thy Self" is Episode 1 title of the 2nd NCIS Spinoff Series
NCIS: New Orleans Season 1 premiere is on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the 9 PM time slot on CBS. The NCIS spinoff series is being executive produced by Gary Glasberg, Mark Harmon and Jeffrey Lieber.
The regular NCIS: New Orleans cast is composed of Scott Bakula as Special Agent in Charge Dwayne Cassius 'King' Pride, Zoe McLellan as Special Agent Meredith 'Merri' Brody, Lucas Black as Special Agent Christopher 'Chris' LaSalle, Rob Kerkovich as Forensic Specialist / NCIS Consultant Sebastian Lund, and C.C.H. Pounder as Chief Medical Examiner / NCIS Consultant Dr. Loretta Wade. Paige Turco will have a recurring role as Dwayne's wife Linda Pride.
NCIS: New Orleans is set in the NCIS New Orleans field office, which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle according to CBS. It is taped both on location and at a studio. The show's pilot episode already aired toward the end of NCIS Season 11 as the 2-part 'Crescent City' episode of the parent series which aired March 25 and April 2, according to the NCIS: New Orleans wiki fan site. Crescent City is one of several nicknames for New Orleans, which include the better known "Big Easy" and "The City that Care Forgot." The official NCIS: New Orleans trailer was released in May and can be watched on Youtube, DailyMotion and other video hosting sites.
At this point, a complete NCIS: New Orleans episode guide is not yet available. However, it is already known that Tuesday's premiere episode will be titled "Musician Heal Thyself" and it is directed by Michael Zinberg based on a script written by showrunner Lieber. According to the plot summary, the show "begins with the New Orleans field office investigating a murder case with ties to the military. The case gets personal for Pride when the victim is identified as a man he mentored as a young gang member who became an upstanding petty officer. Meanwhile, NCIS special agent Meredith Brody acclimates to life in the Crescent City."
