iPod Touch 6G News, Release Date: iPod Touch 6G to be launched in October, a month after iPhone 6 Release

iPod Touch 6G news: Music lovers and Apple gadget geeks, speculations about the iPod Touch 6G release date have been confirmed: it will be scheduled for this October, a month after iPhone 6 release and coinciding with the launch of the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Launched in 2012, the touchscreen-based iPod Touch can be used to play music and videos, take photos, play games, and manage tasks as a personal digital assistant. Considered as one of Apple's best-selling products, more than 100 million iPod Touch units have been sold worldwide.

As for iPod Touch 6G specs, techies can expect the colorful iPod Touch 6G to run on Apple's newest operating system, the iOS 8. iOS 8 will have more photo editing features, an improved Notification Center, audio and video messaging capabilities, a predictive typing feature called QuickType, Family Sharing, which allows family members to share apps, music, and books purchased using the same credit card, iCloud Drive, mobile calls via Wi-Fi, and Continuity, among others.

Similar to the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2, the iPod Touch 6G will be equipped with the Touch ID, which uses fingerprints as the phone's security pass code for a more personal experience. The Touch ID feature can also be used to authorize purchases the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store.

The iPod Touch 6G price is expected to be within the US$300 range.
