Apple's iPod Touch 6G Release Dates, Specs, Designs & Reviews: Busting the iPod Touch 6th Generation Rumors and News
Rumors and speculations of the iPod touch 6G's release dates and specs have been going around in the past few years, and no one source can confirm the validity of their claims. So let's boil them down and take the previous predictions a little further.
Let's start with the product release date. Based on the Apple's 2-year gap product launch dates for the iPod touch lineup since 2010, it is very likely that the release date for iPod touch 6G is around September to October 2014. iPod touch 4G was launched on September 1, 2010. Then, iPod touch 5G was launched on October 11, 2012. Apple's iPod touch launch cycle should tell you that the iPod touch 6G can come up any time around the first week of September or October this year.
How about the features and specs for iPod touch 6G? It is pretty obvious that Apple has been looking at their iPhones for their iPod touch specs and designs. Since iPhone 5S and 5C were launched recently, we can probably expect the iPod 6G to follow these iPhone models, plus other improvements based on iPod touch 5 reviews. On the side note, we can even say that the iPod touch 6G might make a grand entrance with the iPhone 6 release.
Other sources would even go further as to speculate every spec and feature for the iPod touch 6G, but let's leave that to the creative minds of Apple and wait for them to surprise us. Apple would have to consider sales, costs, and competition when designing their new iPod touch, and also see if it complements their other lined-up products. Why? The company claimed a 52% drop in their iPod touch sales. If they really want to boost this up, they'd have to come up with an innovative edge for their next iPod touch. The best guess is? Apple would have to make an iPod touch (6G) that complements iPhone 6; something that makes an Apple fan want both gadgets.
All that said, the safest conclusion for now for the speculated iPod touch 6th Generation is that its product release date is somewhere within September to October of 2014. The new iPod touch is going to be a mixed-breed of iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and an upgraded iPod 5G, but who knows? These are only rumors, speculations, and hypothetical reviews based on revved up news pieces. Apple might shock us and exceed all of our expectations, haven't they been good at that?
