'Dancing With the Stars' Season 19 Release Date, 'Duck Dynasty' Star Sadie Robertson & Lolo Jones Join as Contestants
'Dancing With the Stars' Season 19 Reveals 'Duck Dynasty' Star Sadie Robertson & Lolo Jones Join as Contestants
"Dancing with the Stars" Season 19 is just under a month from its premiere and another dancer has been revealed. Sadie Robertson of the hit reality show "Duck Dynasty" on A&E will be a contestant on the new season.
The 17-year-old model joins previously revealed competitors Janel Parrish, Lolo Jones, and Antonio Sabato Jr. The full line-up will be officially announced on September 4th on "Good Morning America". The pros on the show for Season 19 are Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough, Tony Dovolani, Peta Murgatroyd, and Karina Smirnoff.
Sadie's mom Korie Robertson revealed to US Weekly in May that her daughter has always wanted to be on the hit ABC competition show. "I think that our kids are really natural in front of the camera and they have fun with it," Korie shared. "Sadie I think wants to maybe be on a talk show and she wants to be on Dancing with the Stars!" she laughingly added.
Lolo Jones will also be joining the show for the upcoming season. Lolo, 32, will follow in the footsteps of many Olympians who have appeared on the show including Apolo Ohno, Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson.
Lolo is one of the few athletes to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympics, representing the U.S. in the bobsled team this year and in the 100 metre hurdles in London back in 2012. She has been a very polarizing athlete with many fans and detractors which should add to her being a positive ratings booster for the show this season.
