Jupiter Ascending Release Date Adjourned: Hold Your Breath Until Feb 2015 While It Gets Even Better
Warner Bros gave a shock to Hollywood by delaying the release date of its much awaited film "Jupiter Ascending" which was scheduled to hit in July 2014. This move is not taken posivitely by the critics and claim it could derail the prospects of this science-fiction movie. The critics believe it would not only add to the overall costs and budgets of the film but also adversely affect the promotional strategy and revenue upon its release.
The film has already touched a production budget of $175 million and this go rise substantially in the coming seven months. The major reason for the delay was reported as incomplete visual effects. More than 2000 visual effects are still to be completed. The movie is said to be relying more on its visual effects. The execs also reported that the weak response to a screenplay in April was the second good reason for the producers to delay the release by seven months. The producers also stated they would be investing more on marketing of the film worldwide.
Warner Bros are said to be spending over $100 million on the advertising at a worlwide level, one third of which is financed by Village Roadshow. Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum are playing the lead roles in the film supported by Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth. The thrilling music is composed by Michael Giacchino. The movie with its new release date will have to fight the screens along with other high budget films 'Seventh Son' starring Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges and 'Mortdecai' starring Johny Depp.
The story revolves around aliens who plot to harvest earth to create a type of youth serum that would allow them to live forever. The space epic then unfolds the war between the aliens and the genetically engineered earth residents. Let's hold on our breath until its release in Feb 2015 to see the movie in real action.
