Brady Bunch Reunion- King Island Amusement Park
Three members of the 'Brady Bunch' cast, Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter) and Susan Olsen (Cindy), reunited this weekend to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the summer when a famous episode from the television series was shot at Kings Island in 1973.
The 1973 episode was entitled, "The Cincinnati Kids,' Newsmax reports. The cast members were able to meet fans, pose for photos, sign autographs and they even performed a musical number during which Williams, aka Greg Brady, performed a rap to the tune of Eminem's song, 'The Real Slim Shady.'
Williams, 58, explained that the rap, 'The Real Greg Brady,' was his attempt to explain his popularity to his young song a few years back, according to USA Today. The song tried to explain why people always wanted his autograph and to take photos with him, however, the boy apparently did not enjoy his father's music.
The 'Brady Bunch kids' did four sold-out shows on Sunday with the 844-seat venue packed to capacity, the Examinerreports. People who couldn't get in to see the first show were given wristbands for the second, USA Today reports. They showcased some classic clips from the television series and laughed about great memories during the reunion.
Williams was the star of the show, USA Today reports. He came out first the introduce the trio, talked about the clips and even showed off a little 'Johnny Bravo.' Olsen, 51, spoke about being a mother of a 16-year-old boy with a mohawk. Knight, 55, explained that he has few memories of his time on the show, so he enjoyed begin about the relive them through his fans.
"There were 11 reunion shows and five series. It's been in 142 countries. It's never been off the air. I'm very proud of what the 'Brady Bunch' stands for. It's been an incredible ride," Williams told Cincinnati.com, according to Newsmax.
"I think everybody, at some point in their life, wanted to be a Brady," said Kim Williamson, a fan who drove more than three hours from her home in West Virginia, according to USA Today. "Their whole family seemed so perfect. They were so nice. I think it resonates with the child in all of us to want to be Brady."
