Mac Mini 2014 Release Date, Rumors, Reveals and Specs: Upgraded  Version of Mac Mini to have Next Generation Wi-Fi for Faster Connectivity

The truth is that the release date for the Mac mini is yet to be provided. On the other hand, the Apple Mac Mini is the smallest and the cheapest version of the Desktop Mac. It is also the only Mac that has not been updated since 2012.  Therefore, people were expecting a new Mac mini version from Apple quite soon. The release date was suspected for February this year, but that did not happen. At the end of July, an update to a Boot Camp support document referenced a possible version of the Mac Mini 2014 meaning the possibility of a release this year. There are some that believe the refresh of the Mac Mini is a mistake. After all, the MacBook  Pro with retina display lineup had a mid 2014 refresh just recently. That would mean that Apple mistakenly modified the boot camp document as an error instead of adding the new retina MacBooks to the list.

The most probable reason for the delay of the MacBook mini's this year is due to the wait for the Broadwell chips which are set to succeed the Haswell chips, which by the way, were never used on the MacMini's in the first place. As for the specs of the MacMini was updated about 2 years ago, and the current model would come available with a 2.5 GHz dual-core Intel i5 processor that has 4GB of RAM and 500 GB of storage. The design of the MacMini is set to be 3.6 cm high, 19.7cm wide and it is going to weigh about 1.22 kg.

 The  other expected upgrade that is supposed to come with the MacMini includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi. This is the gigabit Wi-Fi version that offers three times as much speed as is currently offered in 802.11n wireless networks. This does not mean that the internet speed could reach 1 gigabit per second for those of you who are already salivating at the prospect, but it does mean that the device will not bottleneck in the home network especially when streaming HD video.
