Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Features More Captain Jack Sparrow, Witches, Classic Swashbuckling and No Sea Monsters
Though there has been no absolute date to its release, the Pirates of the Caribbean 5, the latest in the franchise, has been green lighted with the initial title of "Dead Men Tell No Tales". Hmmm, sounds fishy already don't you think?
Fans would be interested to know that producer Jerry Bruckheimer shares that the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 movie will have none of those fearsome sea monsters it has always brought along. And yes, it will finally be a legitimate pirate movie with lots of swashbuckling and Captain Jack Sparrow.
For the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, an interesting note will be that witches will be central character to the plot where one will have some 'tension' with everyone's favorite captain. Do we smell potential love interest here? There will also be a British ghost as part of the main cast of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and will be on some kind of 'revenge mission' alongside Barbossa. If you're wondering where they will be having their adventures? Well, two words: Bermuda Triangle.
Yes, Johnny Depp will be reprising his role of Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffery Rush will also be returning as Captain Barbossa. Sadly, several characters of the previous film won't be making comebacks including Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swan (Kiera Knightley) and Angelica (Penelope Cruz) but will be replaced with different characters.
The movie will be directed by the director of Kon-Tiki, a highly acclaimed Norwegian sea expedition movie, Joachim Rønning. He will be joined by Espen Sandburg. Tentative release of the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is set July 2017.
