FAITHFUL Collective Unveils New Album Exploring Rest throughout the Psalms
FAITHFUL releases "Night Vision: Psalms of Rest," the second part of a two-album project which was preceded by the release of "Daybreak: Psalms of Action." The new album is the fruit of various influential women who are artists, songwriters, and authors coming together around the theme of rest, exploring what the Psalter has to reveal about this idea. Though rest often conjures imagery of the nighttime and sleep, it also refers to a state of inaction where those who love God can dwell knowing that they will be cherished, protected, heard, guided, at peace, nourished, and safe. Speaking of the album and its title track, Sarah Macintosh shares, "People often [only] attribute light and daytime to God, but these Psalms remind us that there is no space or time that is outside of God." "Night Vision" features Ellie Holcomb, Taylor Leonhardt, Jillian Edwards, Savannah Locke, Sara Groves, Tamar Chipp, Sarah Kroger, Sandra McCracken, JJ Heller, Janice Gaines, Jess Ray, Leslie Jordan, Ginny Owens, Sarah Macintosh, Rachael Lampa, Ruth Chou Simons, Trilla Newbell, Ann Voskamp, Patsy Clairmont, Amanda Bible Williams, Lina Abujamra, and Amanda Pittman. |
Written, produced, and performed by women who are deep wells of creativity and experience, the sonic essence of "Night Vision" is organic, expansive, and ethereal. From the album opener's pop ballad feel, to folky Americana tracks such as "He Is Love," the 11-song project showcases both intimate melodies as well as harmonious gang vocals. FAITHFUL's hope is that this new collection of songs will serve people by helping to shift the way that they see the nighttime moments in life. Click here to listen. |
