The Talleys Deliver Live Medley, “Shout To The Lord/How Great Thou Art”
Nearing the end of their powerful streaming-only live recording series, Messages To Treasure: A Live Anthology, legendary Southern Gospel trio, The Talleys, reach back across the decades to perform their signature medley of "Shout To The Lord" and the enduring "How Great Thou Art."
Featuring a glistening lead from Lauren Talley, who has continued an acclaimed solo career following the trio's retirement from touring, the innovative arrangement frames The Talleys' vocals - which range from solo passages to unisons and bold harmonies - with simmering strings and touches of piano as the two songs are presented, first in succession, and then in a startling juxtaposition of melodies and lines that reveal their essential unity in praise of God's power.
Says Roger Talley, "The Talleys recorded an early praise and worship project that included a mashup of the most popular new praise song, 'Shout To The Lord' and the most popular classic praise song, 'How Great Thou Art.' Our arrangement was an instant hit and became our most popular streaming song for many years. Its popularity enabled us to take our ministry to a lot of churches that normally didn't use Southern Gospel music."
