Molly Wilmington Introduces Children to the Heroic Faith of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
B&H is happy to announce the first book in the Here I Am! biography series, Dietrich Bonhoeffer: The Teacher Who Became a Spy (B&H Kids). From the incredible storyteller Molly Wilmington, this captivating picture book recounts the true and inspiring story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, an extraordinary man who showed great courage and faith during one of the darkest times in history.
As someone whose own family has been deeply impacted by the experiences of war, Wilmington wrote this book as a guide to help children of all ages understand and learn important lessons about faith, perseverance, and the power of standing up for what is right. With Shep, the sheepdog puppy, as their guide, readers will learn about Bonhoeffer's inspiring story of unwavering faith, his commitment to Jesus, and how he came to be a spy during World War II.
With a deep passion and a gift for storytelling, Wilmington brings Bonhoeffer's journey to life in an exciting and thought-provoking way. With a message of hope and resilience, Dietrich Bonhoeffer: The Teacher Who Became a Spy is the first in the Here I Am! biography series, which highlights fascinating and faithful Christians in history. Don't miss the next two books releasing later this year, which will explore the stories of C. S. Lewis and Lottie Moon.
Molly Wilmington creates unique picture books using humor, animals, and suspense to explore more complex ideas of courage, faith, suffering, and love. Molly studied English and children's literature at Baylor, ethics at Notre Dame's Vita Institute, and theology at Duke. Originally from Texas, Molly now lives in Montana with her husband, David, their two children, Luke and Anna Grace, Oliver the shepherd lab, and Ranger the bearded dragon. The family enjoys soccer, hiking, music, and cracking up over each other's clever stories.
