Britt Nicole Reveals How a Prophecy Encouraged Her to Release Her New Song
GRAMMY nominated, GOLD certified, No. 1 Christian Hot AC artist Britt Nicole has recently released her brand new single "Keep Looking Up (featuring Joe L. Barnes)." The song that encourages us not to give up hope; this song is already gaining traction with many who are feeling overwhelmed this holiday season.
You've come this far, you can't let go.
You can make it if you just hold on.
To all of the dreamers, don't stop believing,
Heaven is watching over us.
Nicole has taken the time to talk about how the song came about. "I wrote this song in 2015 with David Garcia. We thought it was a great song, but we were only choosing 12 songs for the record, and this one did not make the list. We turned it in to the label as a demo, but the timing wasn't right. I have over 100 songs like this that have never been heard. I do believe that one day people will hear them, whether it's me singing them or someone else.
"When I was 19, Kris Vallotton prophesied over me at a church in Franklin TN that my voice would be a trumpet to my generation. Then a few years ago I was in another gathering with Kris Vallotton and He encouraged artist and worship leaders to go back and listen to some of their old songs. I did that and was stirred to put out `I'll fight for you' and `Keep Looking Up.'
"Thank you Kris Vallotton for being a prophet and leader to us!!! When a prophet speaks it is important to listen. After being stirred to put these 2 song out I started working on them and was blessed to have Lael produce both songs and Joe L. Barnes to join me on `Keep Looking Up.' I want to encourage other artist and worship leaders reading this to go and listen to the songs God has given you and ask Him, if maybe someone needs to hear it? I don't release songs for it to have success, I do it out of obedience because God knows if someone needs these words."
