Windows 9 Spoilers and Reveals, and Release Date: Operating System Start Menu to Integrate Elements of UI
Windows 9 is going to be the most important software release for Microsoft thus far, as we can all agree that Windows 8, though necessary in the evolutionary step is not the quite popular. Even with the updates that were provided including Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 update 1, there is not a lot that has been done that effectively repairs the damage. Microsoft Partners should be getting a pre beta version of Windows Developer Preview 9. That means that those partners will see the earliest version of Windows 9 even before the build conference. If everything goes well then a release candidate version will be released by Microsoft at the end of August or September but that is not yet set in stone.
From hence, the release date of the software will be determined and bugs will be collected and fixed for several months before the finished product code is sent to the manufactures. It is expected that Windows 9 will be for 64 bit only however, this was also assumed of Windows 8 and that did not happen. There are suggestions that Microsoft should allow Windows Phone and Windows RT apps to be able to run on both Windows phone and Windows. Even the Xbox apps will probably become cross compatible. The other improvement that we will probably see is much improved power management. This is due to the competition within the windows mobile sector.
The release date for the operating system as yet has been rumored to be sometime in summer of next year. That would make it 2 years after the release of windows 8, however, that date could also easily slip. The other point of interest is the start menu. Apparently it is coming back in a serious way it will not just open the 'Modern UI' which is seen in the Windows 8 update, but will also integrate elements of that UI like live titles on to it.
