Tauren Wells Postpones Tour Due to Hurricane Ian
Ten-time GRAMMY nominee Tauren Wells announces that he is postponing his The Joy in the Morning Tour due to the devstating effects of Hurricane Ian. Some dates for 2022 will be moved to 2023. To check on the dates, click HERE.
Hurricane Ian caused catastrophic damage in parts of Southwest Florida, mostly from flooding due to extreme storm surge and rainfall. In particular, the cities of Fort Myers and Naples were impacted strongly. Millions were left without power in the storm's wake, and several inhabitants were forced to take refuge on their roofs. In total, Hurricane Ian has caused at least 48 fatalities, including 3 people in Cuba and 45 in Florida. Additionally at least 17 people are missing, 16 of them from a boat carrying migrants from Cuba that sank near the Florida Keys as the storm approached; recovery efforts are ongoing.
Wells writes, "This week's devastating impact of Hurricane Ian in Florida necessitates moving dates for my 2022 Joy in the Morning Tour, which was set to launch next week. With the emotional toll from the tragic loss of life, the level of infrastructure damage, and the need for community clean-up over the next few weeks, we and the promoters have mutually determined it is necessary to move these events which, consequently, also means rerouting the entire tour. Some tour dates will remain in fall 2022, but others will necessarily have to move into 2023.
We will post frequent updates on the progress of rescheduling the tour. If you already have tickets, the ticketing platform from which you purchased will email you information regarding any potentially rescheduled show. In the interim, please remember to pray for all of those affected by this heartbreaking disaster."
Lakewood Music and Aaron Cole will join Tauren Wells on the tour.
