Dr. James and Shirley Dobson Honored with the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award
Dr. James and Shirley Dobson were honored with the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award at the 14th annual Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award Banquet, Sunday, April 24. The award was established in 2008 through the shared vision of Prestonwood Christian Academy and the Prestonwood Foundation, with the purpose of encapsulating the legacy of Zig Ziglar by annually naming a recipient who embodies the very essence of Christ-like servant leadership.
The banquet was held Sunday at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. Over 1,000 attendees donated more than $2 million to ensure that families in all socio-economic situations have an opportunity to attend PCA.
All proceeds from the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award Banquet directly benefit Sponsor-A-Child (SAC), Prestonwood Christian Academy's tuition assistance program. Each year, 450-500 PCA students receive need-based financial assistance through SAC.
"Dr. James and Shirley Dobson share an unwavering commitment to family values and God's kingdom," said Dr. Mike Goddard, Superintendent, Prestonwood Christian Academy School System. "What a privilege it is to honor Dr. James and Shirley Dobson as recipients of the 14th annual Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award. This couple has touched the lives of millions of families through their ministry, undergirding Christian values for families in an ever-fluctuating culture."

"Dr. James and Shirley Dobson are heroes of the faith," said Pastor Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church. "They belong not only in The National Radio Hall of Fame, but the Faith Hall of Fame. Their ministry, spanning more than 40 years, has never backed down from proclaiming the Gospel and standing firmly on the truth. I can think of no better recipients for the Zig Ziglar Servant Leadership Award."
