Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Movie Spoilers: First in a New TMNT Trilogy?
The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie that will hit theater screens on August 8 may just be the first in a new set of trilogy that's planned for the now Nickelodeon-owned TMNT franchise. That much we can surmise after renowned actor William Fichtner, who will be reprising the role of TMNT's arch-nemesis "Shredder" in the film, said that he's already been signed up for a three-picture deal. He also revealed that his "Shredder's" alter ego will this time be called "Eric Sachs" instead of "Oraku Saki" as in the original TMNT story line.
To be distributed by Paramount Pictures, the latest live-action film adaptation of the TMNT comic book series also stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fischer, Jeremy Howard, Danny Woodburn, Will Arnett, Johnny Knoxville, and Tony Shalhoub. Direction is by Jonathan Liebesman from a screenplay written by Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec nd Evan Dougherty. Cinematography is by Lulu Carvalho. Shooting started as early as March last year.
The movie's musical scoring was done by Brian Tyler. In addition, it will feature "Shell Shocked," a pop rap single by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla$ign produced by Kill The Noise and Madsonik.
According to the plot summary, New York City will have been held under the iron grip of Shredder and his Foot Clan. That is, until the turtles rise from their sewer base, and with the help of their ally April and her sidekick Fenwick, unmask their diabolical plan. And of course, by the end, the heroes will have beaten the bad guys. But being part of a planned trilogy, we can be sure there will be a teaser of sorts of things yet to come before the credits go up on the theater screen.
