Dr. Alyn E. Waller and Enon Music Group Celebrate Five Years of Outstanding Gospel Music and Achievements
Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller, Senior Pastor of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, PA established the Enon Music Group record label with the purpose to raise appreciation for sacred music to marry the church and the industry again. Dr. Alyn E. Waller along with noted musician and producer Dr. Garland "Miche" Waller began building the label by facilitating artists with a love for the church and a Christocentric lyric who needed the support and resources of music distribution, marketing, and promotions on a national and international scale.
"I grew up around music and singing at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cleveland OH. I have music in my heart and I wanted to be an artist, but I was called to be a pastor," explains Dr. Alyn E. Waller, President of Enon Music Group. "My exposure to the Gospel music industry then was so I could do even more through EMG now. I created EMG for the purpose for calling the industry back to the church. I want to pastor artists and sow into those who want to use their amazing gifts for the cause of Christ. I look forward to the years that are coming and the impact that will be made by way of music at EMG."
Over the last five years, Enon Music Group (EMG) has developed a dynamic roster of artists. In it's five short years, the label has garnered five Stellar Gospel Music Award nominations - three nominations for the album DR. ALYN E. WALLER Presents ENON TABERNACLE THE EXPERIENCE in 2017, one nomination for Enon Tabernacle's young adult choir Fresh Anointing album TOTALLY in 2019, and one nomination for Zak Williams & 1AKORD's album THE NEXT CHAPTER in 2020 which debuted at #7 on The Billboard Top Gospel Album sales chart.
"It's amazing how fast five years went by. I'm so grateful that God has blessed us to do some major things and to be a new power-player in the gospel music industry," says Dr. Garland Waller, Vice President of Enon Music Group. "We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our artists the Enon Tabernacle Mass Choir, Fresh Anointing, and Zak Williams & 1/Akord. We are looking forward to what's to come with our newest artist San Franklin and others in the future. I pray that God continues to bless the EMG family as we continue to distribute great gospel music."
This year the thriving label released their first compilation album EMG 2020: 10 GREATEST HITS. The compilation includes 10 of their top hit songs by Christopher L. Ervin & Abraham's Descendants, Fresh Anointing, Zak Williams & 1AKORD, Kergyma Community Choir, Robert Copeland, Jemila Richardson, Derrick McDuffey & Kingdom Sound, and Stephen Robinson.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic crisis this year, EMG also created a relief fund to support Philadelphia area musicians who lost employment due to the mandatory closure of churches. Dr. Garland Waller and EMG created "The Levites Relief Fund" and distributed financial assistance to men and women whose only source of income is through music ministry.
EMG is celebrating five years of facilitating prolific and professional Gospel music in ministry and the faith-based marketplace. A 5-year celebratory Virtual Concert will stream on Sunday, November 29 at 7PM Eastern. You can watch EMG artists perform and hear from the EMG staff and team as they share the past five years and offer a glance into the future next years.
