US Legal Drinking Age Hoax: Has The Legal Drinking Age Been Pushed Up

Now the hoax that was posted a few weeks ago saying that drinking age would be changed to 25 in the US and also the UK has surely gone viral with another post saying that Canada's drinking age would also change to 23. The problem is that this hoax is still going on and it is having a number of people confused on Facebook and twitter.

This fake article was posted on the Sunday Times Daily and it sad that people ate it all up and are believing it since this website is known to allow users create and share spurious articles. The site says "We are sorry, but you were tricked! It was just a joke." It also adds: "Don't worry, you are not the only one. [Millions of] people already fell for this. If you liked the joke, you can share it and trick your friends. Also you can create a joke of your own clicking the button below!"

Now the sad part is people are still taking this seriously and with this there has been a huge argument and complains on social media about how unjust it is for the drinking age to be pushed up. The hoax did seem genuine though at first since the site user logos were from BBC and ABC. Well with this hoax the website has generated so much traffic and they are surely making money from the advertisements on the Sunday Time Daily. However, the information on the site is not true and no one should believe what they have read about this topic.

The website also generated other similar viral hoaxes earlier on such as Luis Suarez, the Uruguay and Liverpool striker, being tested positive for use of banned substances. Another hoax said that England would be awarded a rematch against Uruguay in the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This drinking hoax posts have gotten 10 million page view on Facebook while several millions of people shared and liked the post on social network over the few past days. The Canada hoax has had 40,000 likes on social media too.
