Free Resources from Promise Keepers on the Sin of Racism and the Power of Racial Reconciliation
Founded in 1990 by former University of Colorado football coach Bill McCartney, Promise Keepers (PK) is calling men back to courageous and bold servant leadership by sparking a movement that will mobilize millions of men to follow Christ into today's broken world as changemakers for their families, churches and communities.
From its inception, Promise Keepers has taken an unequivocal and unapologetic stand against racism and for racial reconciliation. All Promise Keepers strive to keep seven strategic promises that create the foundation of our values and how we apply the Word of God in our daily actions. Promise #6 is a solemn commitment to reach beyond any racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity.
As Christian men, it is our responsibility to respect and protect our brothers of all races.
Toward that end, Promise Keepers has created a webpage with helpful voices from within the Promise Keepers community speaking and writing on the topic of racial reconciliation.
The topics include:
- Seeking Justice
- Race Relations in the Church
- Reconciliation
The contributors include:
- Tony Dungy, Super Bowl-winning coach
- Dr. Alveda King, executive director of civil rights for the unborn for Gospel of Life and the niece of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King
- Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference
